The Dialogue of Cultures Forum at the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services said on 5 November 2026 that it has launched the "Religious Leaders for the 21st Century" program. The program aims to enhance the role of religious leaders in supporting sustainable development issues and expanding their contributions to facing societal challenges, the organization said.

The first meeting of the program included 30 religious leaders from various governorates to discuss the essential roles of the religious leader as an active partner in serving his community. Discussions also addressed the importance of linking religious values and texts to the needs and challenges of reality, according to the organization.

It also seeks to strengthen their roles in consolidating the values of citizenship and social cohesion to improve the lives of individuals and communities, the organization said.

Representatives of the participating governorates worked on preparing drafts for joint action plans to support sustainable development issues in their local communities and translate discussions into practical, implementable steps. The meeting was moderated by His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Amr El-Wardani, Chairman of the Religious Affairs and Endowments Committee in the House of Representatives, and Rev. Dr. Refaat Fathy, General Secretary of the Nile Evangelical Synod, the organization said.
