Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services holds volunteer training
The training session aimed to develop leadership skills and enhance the role of volunteers in community service, the organization said.
The Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services, in partnership with the Arab Union for Volunteering, organized a training session titled "From Volunteer to Leader," the organization said on 4 November 2026.
The session was attended by 25 male and female volunteers and Dr. Hind Abu Saad, the coordinator of the Arab Union for Volunteering in Egypt, according to the statement. The training aimed to develop the leadership skills of volunteers and enhance their role in community service. The meeting addressed standards for designing and implementing community initiatives, needs assessment, building partnerships with government and private sector institutions, and the role of monitoring and impact measurement in evaluating initiative results and effectiveness.
The training focused on volunteering as a moral commitment and a positive initiative for society, and the role of volunteers in turning ideas into practical initiatives for local community needs, the organization said. Representatives from the Basmat Ebda' for Development Association, a partner association of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for implementing developmental initiatives and programs, also participated in the meeting.
The training is part of the organization's mechanisms for working with volunteers, which include capacity building, involvement in community initiatives, and participation in meetings and events to expand networks and exchange expertise, the organization said. Coordination is underway to organize online training courses to provide flexible opportunities for volunteers with academic or professional commitments and to enhance communication between volunteer teams in different governorates. The organization currently has 9 volunteer groups across 5 governorates: Sohag, Minya, Beni Suef, Cairo, and Qalyubia.
