About Coptic News

What Coptic News covers and who it is not affiliated with, how to reach it, and how to send it a story for publication.

Published Updated

Coptic News is an independent publication about Coptic Christian communities in Egypt and the diaspora. It is not affiliated with, funded by or speaking for any church, diocese, government or organisation, and it carries no advertising.

What it covers

Stories are filed under four sections, Egypt, Diaspora, Church and Culture. Background pieces are also listed under Explainers. The site publishes no opinion.

Stories rest on published sources, which are listed with the story, or on reporting sent in by contributors. Content is reviewed before publication. The Terms say how content is handled, licensed and corrected.

Contact

Coptic News is reached by email, at three addresses.

  • corrections@coptic-news.com, for an error in a story.
  • submissions@coptic-news.com, for a story you would like to see published.
  • contact@coptic-news.com, for everything else, including the reuse of a story and anything on the site that does not work for you.

The addresses only receive mail, so a reply may come from a different address.

Submit a story

To send a story, write to submissions@coptic-news.com. Include the title and the text, what the story rests on, and how you would like to be reached about it.

A story should be about Coptic Christian communities in Egypt or the diaspora, written in English, and belong under one of the four sections. Submissions are reviewed and may be declined, and a story that is declined is not published in any form. A story that is published appears as it was sent, in the site's layout and under a desk byline, as every story does. Publication is on the terms set out under Submissions.
