The General Secretariat Council of Catholic Schools in Egypt held a regular meeting at the General Secretariat headquarters in central Cairo, according to a statement from the Catholic Church in Egypt published on 2 November 2026.

The council began with a spiritual meditation and reviewed achievements from the previous period through reports and news from sub-secretariats, while discussing successes, ongoing files, and challenges requiring more attention, the statement said.

Members discussed preparations for the upcoming General Assembly, including its proposed program and scheduled reports, and proposed ideas for continuous formation during Council meetings to improve work mechanisms and member efficiency, the church said. The meeting also addressed developments and preparation steps for a proposed new General Secretariat headquarters in central Cairo.

The council emphasized that future plans and decisions should serve society and build the human being to enhance the educational and humanitarian mission of Catholic Schools, while working in a spirit of love, humility, and giving, the church said.
