The Catholic Church in Egypt said on 3 November 2026 that it participated in a meeting of the Women's Committee of the Council of Churches in Egypt at the Episcopal Church headquarters in Heliopolis.

The meeting included the Episcopal Church receiving the chairmanship of the committee from the Evangelical Church, according to the church. Reverend Joshua Yaqoub, General Secretary of the Council of Churches in Egypt, participated alongside representatives from various church families.

The church said Mrs. Martha Yohanna was appointed Chairperson, Nora Edward was appointed Secretary, Dr. Laura Petra was appointed Treasurer, and Mrs. Arlette Michel was appointed Public Relations Officer.

The meeting included the presentation and discussion of proposals to organize and develop the committee's work in the coming period. One proposal was to hold a regular fixed meeting once every month to follow up on the committee's work and develop the service. Another proposal involved preparing an annual work plan to be presented and discussed at the next meeting, with committee members tasked with submitting ideas for the plan, the church said.
