Pope Tawadros II meets youth from Graz, Austria, church says
The group was accompanied by Rev. Theodore Anba Antonios and Rev. Father Samuel Iskander, the church said.
The Coptic Orthodox Church said on 9 September 2026 that Pope Tawadros II received a group of youth and servants from the church in Graz, Austria, at the Papal Headquarters in Cairo. The group was accompanied by the monk Rev. Theodore Anba Antonios and Rev. Father Samuel Iskander, who provided educational and awareness services in a number of churches in Egypt, the church said.
The church said the visit was arranged through the “HIGH” office, which coordinates service between diaspora dioceses and areas in need in Egypt. This office was established by a decision of the Holy Synod and is an abbreviation for the phrase Hands in God’s Hand, the church said.
Pope Tawadros II praised the enthusiasm and readiness for service of the youth and encouraged them to repeat the visit, the church said. The Pope spoke to the group using the verse “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:4) and presented five aspects of delighting in the Lord, the church said.
According to the church, the five aspects of delighting in the Lord presented by the Pope are prayer, the Gospel, the Holy Sacraments, service, and loving everyone.
