The Catholic Church in Egypt said on 19 October 2026 that Patriarch Anba Ibrahim Isaac, Patriarch of Alexandria of the Coptic Catholics, attended a pastoral evening for the church of the great martyr Saint George in El Qusairin at the Saint George Theater in Heliopolis.

The Patriarch emphasized the importance of parishioners sharing in each other's joys and sorrows, the church said. He stated that the church should be a space that brings people together and supports them throughout the various stages of their lives.

The Patriarch noted that the evening coincided with his return from Italy, where he participated in a meeting held for the tenth anniversary of the issuance of the Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Laetitia by Pope Francis regarding the family and related pastoral activities.

Pastors Father Magdy Zaki and Father Joao Gabriel participated in the evening, which included artistic performances by the parish choir and the theater group and a celebration for the graduation of sons and daughters of various educational stages in the church. At the conclusion of the celebration, Patriarch Anba Ibrahim Isaac honored the male and female graduates of the parish and took commemorative photos with them, the church said.
