The Catholic Church in Egypt said on 15 September 2026 that His Grace Anba Bishara Gouda, Bishop of the Abu Qurqas, Mallawi, and Deir Mawas Diocese for Coptic Catholics, presided over the closing ceremony of summer activities and the honoring of male and female graduates of Saint George and Saint Paul Church in Manhari. The event was held at the Al-Takween Hotel in Abu Qurqas.

Hegumen Matta Raji and Father Mina Al-Qommos Matta participated in the celebration, according to the church. During the event, the Bishop delivered a spiritual meditation to those present regarding the "Nawrouz Feast".

The Bishop discussed the words of Saint Paul the Apostle, emphasizing that struggle is discipline, the church said. He stated that whoever struggles disciplines themselves, just as the discipline of speech is the discipline of emotions, behavior, thought, and the heart.
