The Catholic Church in Egypt said on 7 November 2026 that Patriarch Anba Ibrahim Isaac, Patriarch of Alexandria for the Coptic Catholics and President of the Council of Patriarchs and Bishops of the Catholics in Egypt, celebrated the graduation of the fifty-sixth batch of the Institute of Religious Education in Sakakkini.

The celebration began with an opening prayer presided over by the Patriarch, the church said. Sister Mary Josepha Crommel, Director of Studies at the institute, gave a speech expressing thanks to God, attendees, teachers, fourth-grade activists, and the graduating students, and she presented practical recommendations for their continued service.

Father Abram Maher, Director of the Institute, delivered a speech of thanks in which he highlighted the faithfulness of the institute's mission and the preservation of its identity, the church said. During the ceremony, participating groups presented their activities from the past year in their parishes, and a student from each group presented a life testimony regarding their study and service. Sister Rita Kamel also presented her experience as a representative of the group of activists.

The Patriarch addressed the attendees with a paternal word, offering encouragement and guidance to the graduating students and emphasizing the importance of their mission in continuing service, according to the church. The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates to graduates, the announcement of the sending, and an apostolic blessing from the Patriarch.
