The Catholic Church in Egypt said on 27 October 2026 that Patriarch Anba Ibrahim Isaac, Patriarch of Alexandria for the Coptic Catholics, concluded a pastoral visit to the Diocese of Qusiya with the Divine Liturgy and the ordination of new deacons at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Qusiya.

The Patriarch emphasized that the theme of the visit, “Let your light shine before men,” calls on the faithful to carry the light of Christ to others through word, service, and daily witness, the church said. During his sermon, the Patriarch expressed thanks to God for the meetings, prayers, openings, and church dedications experienced during the visit, describing the days as a piece of heaven due to the faith, simplicity, love, and dedication to serving the Church he witnessed.

The Patriarch addressed three fundamental ideas regarding the meaning of Christian service, explaining that Jesus Christ reveals true greatness through humility and self-sacrifice, citing the washing of the disciples' feet at the Last Supper, the church said. He affirmed that Church service is a responsibility that brings one closer to others rather than a privilege of higher status.

The Patriarch stressed that service is the responsibility of the entire Church and is not limited to priests and deacons, as every baptized person is called to carry the Gospel message in their family, workplace, and community, according to the statement. He also urged the youth not to fear self-sacrifice, affirming that the Church, homeland, and society need their talents, courage, and hope.
