Coptic Evangelical Organization signs cooperation protocol with Dar al-Ifta
The agreement aims to strengthen citizenship principles and coexistence, according to the organization.
The Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services said on 3 September 2026 that it participated in the signing of a cooperation protocol with the Egyptian Dar al-Ifta. The signing occurred during the closing session of the 11th International Fatwa Conference. The conference was held under the theme "Family Challenges in Light of Major Transformations: A Fatwa Approach to Protecting the Family, Forecasting its Future, and Preserving Identity" under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
Dr. Rev. Andrea Zaki, President of the Evangelical Community in Egypt and President of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services, said the protocol represents an extension of the cooperation and dialogues between the two sides. He noted that the value of the protocol lies in its ability to transform dialogue into action. Dr. Rev. Andrea Zaki expressed his aspiration for the cooperation to be an advanced model for partnership that places the Egyptian human at the forefront of its goals.
The organization said the protocol stems from its belief in the importance of strengthening the principles of citizenship and the values of coexistence. The organization stated that the agreement aims to spread a culture of dialogue, consolidate the acceptance of the other, and confront extremist ideas and hate speech. These efforts are intended to support national efforts to build a cohesive society based on mutual respect and cultural and religious diversity within the framework of Egypt's Vision for Sustainable Development 2030.
