The Catholic Church in Egypt said on 23 October 2026 that the Clerical College in Maadi held a meeting under the patronage of Patriarch Anba Ibrahim Isaac. The meeting brought together clergy members of the College and spiritual mentors to deacons under the slogan "You are my witnesses, says the Lord."

According to the church, the gathering aimed to strengthen cooperation in the journey of clerical formation and support the human and spiritual growth of deacons. Father Romany Fawzy, Dean of the College, presented a welcoming speech and a prayer, while Father Abram Maher, Vice Dean of the College, reviewed a summary of work from previous years regarding formation and work mechanisms for the new year.

Father Nader Michel, SJ, spoke on the topic of "Emotional Formation," discussing how emotional maturity helps individuals understand and deal with their feelings and needs. Father Nader explained that emotional formation is influenced by family, upbringing, previous experiences, and human relationships, and that love, acceptance, security, belonging, and appreciation are essential for emotional growth.

Father Giovanni Kasid Khair, a member of the clergy at the College, moderated a discussion session following the lecture. The session included an exchange of experiences and ended with the formulation of recommendations for the new year to support the formation and accompaniment of deacons on human and spiritual levels, the church said.
