Caritas Egypt supports mental health event in Fayid, church says

The Catholic Church in Egypt said on 22 October 2026 that Caritas Egypt contributed to organizing a special event in Fayid for patients of Helwan Mental Health Hospital. The association provided the necessary means of transportation to transport the patients to and from the location, the church said.

This contribution is part of the association's interest in supporting mental health and promoting social integration, the church said. The participation aims to address the social and psychological aspects of patients by providing opportunities for recreation and activities outside the therapeutic environment to support social integration and enhance their sense of care and appreciation, the church said.

The church said that the participation highlights the importance of integrating efforts between health institutions and civil society organizations to meet patient needs and address psychological and social aspects alongside healthcare.
