The Catholic Church in Egypt said on 19 September 2026 that Bishop Krikor Augustinos Koussa, the Armenian Catholic Bishop of Alexandria, participated in a reception for figures of Egyptian origin of Armenian descent. The reception was hosted by Dr. Badr Abdelatty, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Expatriates, to recognize the long-standing contributions of those of Armenian descent to the building of the Egyptian state, the church said.

According to the church, Boghos Yusufian was the first person to head the Egyptian Foreign Ministry in 1826.
