The Catholic Church in Egypt said on 26 September 2026 that Anba Pachom, the Patriarchal Vicar for Patriarchal Diocese affairs, participated in a spiritual day in Alexandria.

The activities were held under the title “The Joy of Love” and the slogan “Wounds of the Past and the Future of Marriage,” according to the church. About 150 individuals attended the event to support family life and help spouses understand how past experiences impact family building, the church said. The day included the Divine Liturgy, workshops, an exchange of experiences, and a seminar on the film “When the Electricity Goes Out” to discuss how past wounds impact relationships and married life.

Anba Pachom emphasized that the family can be a place for healing and stressed the importance of honoring parents and seeking excuses for them based on their knowledge and ability to provide care, the church said.

Anba Pachom also pointed to the role of the Holy Spirit in helping people view past wounds in a new way and discover good within pain, while emphasizing the need for God's healing for deep internal wounds, the church said.
