The Catholic Church in Egypt said on 31 October 2026 that His Excellency Bishop Claudio Lurati, the Latin Church Bishop in Egypt, celebrated Holy Childhood Day with children from various parishes. The event was held under the slogan “One in Christ, United in Mission,” according to the church.

The celebration took place at the Monastery of the Virgin Mary for the Franciscan Fathers in Mokattam and was organized by the organizing committee with the participation of Father Christophe, a Comboni missionary. The program included formation meetings, spiritual hymn segments, and the Divine Liturgy, the church said.

According to the church, the celebration coincided with the sixth anniversary of the episcopal ordination of His Excellency Bishop Claudio Lurati. During the occasion, children shared the event with the Bishop and offered prayers for him, asking God to grant him graces and blessings and to support him in his mission as a father and shepherd of the Latin Church in Egypt, the church said.
