The Catholic Church in Egypt reported on 26 September 2026 that a spiritual day was organized for the Legion of Mary Families group.

Father Matta Rizq, the parish priest, delivered a speech titled “The Importance of Teamwork” regarding the role of the soldiers of Mary in spiritual and apostolic activities and the need for cooperation between officers and members in the service of the Church, the church said. Archpriest Matta Raji also emphasized the importance of the Legion of Mary's service in parishes and their role in supporting pastoral work and serving the children of the Church as an auxiliary arm to the priest, according to the report.

The day included Marian spiritual hymns, Bible competitions, working groups, and the exchange of experiences, the church said. Father Matta presented a spiritual meditation titled “How to Meditate on the Word of God,” based on Saint Mark (2: 1–12) concerning the healing of the paralytic. During the meditation, Father Matta discussed how the four individuals who carried the paralytic to Jesus reflect the mission of the Legionary to bring others, particularly those in need, to the Lord Jesus, the church said.

Archpriest Matta Raji, members of the local council of the Legion of Mary in Abu Qurqas, and Sister Mary Monir participated in the day, the church said.
