The Catholic Church in Egypt said on 23 October 2026 that His Grace Anba Basilios Fawzy, Bishop of the Minya Diocese for Coptic Catholics, visited the Family Conference of the Cana of Galilee Center for Family and Life in Samalut. The event was held under the slogan “School of the Conscious Heart.”

The Bishop delivered a spiritual meditation titled “The Conscious Heart” to those present, the church said. During the visit, the Bishop encouraged attendees by emphasizing the importance of activating formation programs for those approaching marriage. He also noted the necessity of activating the Cana Center's role in family meetings in all churches of the Diocese and concluded his speech with pastoral recommendations, according to the statement.

His Grace Anba Basilios met with the conference's children's service to speak about perseverance in daily prayer and reading the Holy Bible, the church said. The day included spiritual segments and formation lectures delivered by Father Boutros Anwar, pastor of the Holy Family Church in Fayoum.

Father Emmanuel Abdullah, Vicar of the Diocese, and Father Angelos Mounir, Director of the Center, participated in the meeting, the church said.
